The Colorado Dept. of Corrections has a new interactive statistics feature on their website. Dashboard Measures provides customizable statistics on inmate populations, admissions and releases, prison behavior (i.e. administrative segregation, positive drug tests), prison work programs, and community corrections and parole. For instance, you can see that the number of inmates currently in administrative segregation (solitary confinement) has dropped from 4.6% (930 inmates) to 3.9% (686 inmates) of the total inmate population between June 2012 and April 2013. This site can be very useful to journalists, law enforcement personnel, social workers, and anyone else needing data on Colorado correctional populations.
