The State of Colorado has recently released its Task Force Report on the Implementation of Amendment 64, Regulation of Marijuana in Colorado. This task force, created through Executive Order B2012-004, “was asked to identify the legal, policy and procedural issues that need to be resolved, and to offer suggestions and proposals for legislative, regulatory and executive actions that need to be taken, for the effective and efficient implementation of Amendment 64 — the constitutional amendment authorizing the use and regulation of marijuana in the State of Colorado.”

Trying to find out when these recommendations will be considered in the house and senate?
The Joint Select Committee on the Implementation of A64 Task Force Recommendations reviewed the task force report and made decisions on which items should be drafted into proposed legislation. The committee finished their work on April 8. Details on the proceedings and recommendations from the Joint Select Committee can be found on the Committee Summaries web site. The Amendement 64 Implementation Committee is at the bottom of the list.At the moment there are two resolutions on the table in the General Assembly, SR13-003 and HR13-1008 proposing creation of committees of reference on the implementation of the amendment. If the committees of reference are approved, all proposed legislation related to Amendment 64 will be funneled through those committees. If not, it will be up to individual legislators to sponsor the legislation proposed in the recommendations. The best thing to do is to keep an eye on the committee pages, or track new bills by searching State Bill Colorado.
