November is National COPD Month. COPD (or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is a long-term respiratory disease related to emphysema and bronchitis. Symptoms include persistent coughing, mucus, tightness of the chest, and shortness of breath. It is frequently caused by smoking, air pollution, and other external sources.
