Wondering if a particular crime is a felony, misdemeanor, or petty offense in Colorado? Or the difference between a Class A and Class B traffic infraction? The Colorado Legislative Council has just published a new Crime Classification Guide, now available to view online from the State Publications Library. The guide “is a compilation of crimes and traffic infractions in Colorado. For each offense, a brief description of the elements of the crime and the statutory citation is provided.” The guide also offers information on the Colorado Criminal Code, as well as a list of offenses grouped by crime type.
The Crime Classification Guide is a handy resource for Colorado attorneys, law enforcement, and interested citizens. Because laws are constantly changing, Legislative Council issues a new edition of the guide on a periodic basis. Previous editions of the guide can be accessed through the State Publications Library’s digital repository.
