Tweens & Teens

Denver Public Library invites kids and teens to meet a free-flying hawk, an eagle, an owl, and a falcon at Hawk Quest on July 27, 11:00 am, at Ford-Warren Branch Library. Learn the importance of different raptors, their specially adapted tools, and their role in our ecosystem.

Boulder Public Library’s Teen Music Listening Club offers a unique twist on the traditional book club by focusing on music. Their next meeting is July 21 at the Main Library.

Alamosa Public Library’s Tween Night on July 26 features Library Mini Golf for ages 8-18. Test your putt-putt skills while winding through the stacks.

Poudre Libraries’ Teen Council is offering Biblio Putt Putt for teens on July 20 at Old Town Library. In addition to mini golf there will be other games, a photo booth, and refreshments.

Wilkinson Public Library is hosting a Tween and Teen Patio Party filled with music, crafts, and trivia on July 19 at 2:00 pm.

Longmont Public Library is hosting a Hula Hoop Party with Mad About Hoops for kids 4 and up on July 26 at 10:00 am. Join them for an interactive hula hoop lesson and demonstration.

Delta County Libraries welcomes local artist John Marc Bimonte for Introduction to Relief Printmaking on July 20 at Cedaredge Library. Join him to learn the basics of relief and monotype printmaking and the art of gyotaku, or “fish-rubbing”.

For their final Summer Learning event, Pine River Library welcomes Durango Agility Dogs Club for Agility Dogs, a special demonstration and discussion about getting started with dog agility. Join them on July 26 at 11:00 am.

Jefferson County Public Library invites everyone to experience MESO, the Mobile Earth + Space Observatory, on July 22 at Golden Library. This “science center on wheels” is an outdoor classroom designed to give you first-hand experience with solar telescopes, spectrometry, and Sungazers.

All Together Now

Join Basalt Regional Library for a summer screening of Aspen Film Shorts on July 23 at 5:00 pm. This selection from the Shortsfest archive features films in English and Spanish, as well as animated films without words, and a short created by teens during a library workshop the week prior. Come enjoy popcorn and drinks at this free event.

Pikes Peak Library District is partnering with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to host a Naturalization Ceremony for new U.S. Citizens on July 26 at Library 21c. Join them in welcoming and celebrating these brand-new citizens!

Salida, Buena Vista, and Lake County Libraries are sponsoring Free Movie Night at The Comanche Drive-In on July 25 at 7:00 pm. Gain admission with your library card for a free screening of 80s classic The Goonies.

Pueblo City-County Library District welcomes all to Pueblo Puzzle Palooza on July 20 from 12:00 to 5:00 pm at the Rawlings Makerspace. Events include a puzzle swap, community puzzles, speed puzzles, creating puzzles, and puzzle preservation.

Trinidad Public Library’s Summer Reading Program Award Party is July 19 at 5:00 pm. Join them in celebrating all participants with prize giveaways, including a Kindle Fire.
