2018 Legislative Session is Underway

The Second Regular Session of the Seventy-first General Assembly began Wednesday with speeches, ceremonies, and the introduction of many bills.  Among the bills introduced yesterday include hot topics such as:

• Opioid misuse prevention 
• Marijuana businesses 
• Human trafficking 
• Youth experiencing homelessness 
• Concealed handguns on school grounds 
• Sales tax on retail marijuana 
• Red light camera repeal
• Transportation infrastructure funding 
• Rural broadband deployment 
• Students excused from state assessments
• Criminal sentencing 
• Nurse licensure
• Use of electronic mobile devices while driving 
• State income tax rate
