Looking for a great place to go fishing, but not sure where to start? Then check out the Colorado Fishing Atlas from Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). Here you’ll find an interactive map of fishing locations across the state. Click on a location on the map to get driving directions and information on fish species; ease of access; boating options; elevation; and more. You can also use the atlas to search for special types of fishing areas, such as family-friendly or wheelchair accessible. There’s also an option to view topographical maps.
You can also find general fishing information on the Fishing Atlas page, including where to buy a fishing license; a stocking report; and a link to a mobile app version of the atlas. You can also create a personalized “fishing resource report” of data on all fishing areas within a certain mile radius.
As you plan your fishing trip, another helpful resource to consult is CPW’s annual Colorado Fishing Regulations & Property Directory brochure. Here you’ll find license information, fishing basics, laws and special regulations, conservation information, maps, and much more.
