Summer is a time when families and kids look to libraries to provide fun, enriching, and engaging activities and we know how difficult it can be to plan, find the time, collect resources, and build capacity to meet our communities’ needs.
Colorado’s Division of Fire Prevention and Control’s Bucket Brigade Program is designed to support our libraries in teaching and promoting fireworks safety surrounding Fourth of July.
The Colorado Division of Fire Prevention has also created a sample letter template that libraries can use to reach out to local fire departments to plan an onsite interactive visit during our summer reading programs to promote summer and fireworks safety. They have created and offered to provide materials and resources for the Summer Bucket Brigade Program to be used for these visits.
These materials include a large bucket, stickers, and handouts that are free to cooperating agencies (yes, libraries, are included in those agencies!).
Request the Bucket Brigade Materials now through March 14, 2025.
